smallest shop, smallest town, smallest county, smallest state
Located in the charming Waterfront Historic District of Warren, Rhode Island
NICK HAUS specializes in art, antiques and vintage wares. A constantly rotating collection of objects is displayed in a charming miniature building. When warm, it’s open to the garden; when cold, it’s kept cozy by woodfire.
FOUNDED in 2009, Nick Haus recently established a shop open to the public and continues to sell product online as well. Nick of Nick Haus uses his training in Interior Architecture to suggest new ways of living with old things.
Objects survive epochs, and can inspire us to advance rather than degrade. This is the ethos of Nick Haus.
We cannot know his legendary head
with eyes like ripening fruit. And yet his torso
is still suffused with brilliance from inside,
like a lamp, in which his gaze, now turned to low,
gleams in all its power. Otherwise
the curved breast could not dazzle you so, nor could
a smile run through the placid hips and thighs
to that dark center where procreation flared.
Otherwise this stone would seem defaced
beneath the translucent cascade of the shoulders
and would not glisten like a wild beast’s fur:
would not, from all the borders of itself,
burst like a star: for here there is no place
that does not see you. You must change your life.
