Oil Painting 19th century oil on board depicting monks in North American West with log cabins. A very rare view of American wilderness settlement in charming folky style. Possibly depicting early Jesuit settlements in Canada? The figures appear to be wearing long robes. c. 1850 1860, presented in original molded and gilt wooden frame. The mountains look somewhat like the Tetons in Wyoming, though it could be the Canadian Rockies. I welcome your opinion!

SIZE: 16.75" T x 18.75" W

CONDITION: In very good condition with typical grime, craquelure and extremely minor scattered losses. Pictures show all.
