On offer artist signed J. Palmer Libby oil on board depicting yellow day lillies and wild flowers against a moody background. Most of the day lilies are in full, vibrant bloom, but some to the lower right are shown in decline, a nod to the work 17th century dutch still painters. Exceptionally fine throughout, true mastery of the medium. Signed and dated 1993 lower right.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: J. Palmer Libby (1928 -2005) was a noted Maine artist who specialized in oil on board still lifes, male nudes and landscapes.
