Painting Oil Fishing Boat Maritime Marine Nautical Fisherman Scene Seagull Midcentury Style of Fairfield Porter Signed VH 1967 Framed

On offer signed mid-century nautical painting depicting fisherman pulling their catch from the sea. Dynamic composition puts you on the boat as they cast and pull their nets, as a seagull flies overhead waiting for scraps. Broad plains of color indicate form in a semi abstract style reminiscent of the work of Fairfield Porter. Framed in a fine cerused oak, by a well known shop in New Canaan, CT home of sophisticated and wealthy modernists. Signed and dated lower left 1967.

SIZE: 14.5" T x 18.5" W, framed
